Chair in Healthy and Sustainable Nutrition

The Chair in Healthy and Sustainable Nutrition (CASS) was created through a collaboration between the University of Girona (UdG) and weRfoods with the goal of generating and disseminating scientific knowledge about healthy and sustainable nutrition.

A forum for collaboration among universities, the agri-food sector, institutions, professionals, and society, aimed at promoting research, knowledge, and collaboration to contribute to a healthier, more sustainable food system that is closely connected to the local region.

An initiative to generate knowledge

Food is a vital part of our society and, at the same time, a sector that is constantly evolving.

In light of the new challenges related to health, sustainability, and food systems, CASS aims to contribute through science, research, and rigorous outreach, generating knowledge that fosters a better understanding of these challenges and paves the way for evidence-based solutions.

The Chair aims to become a meeting place that facilitates dialogue and collaboration across different fields and disciplines.

What do we want to achieve?

Disseminating scientific knowledge

To provide the public with accurate and verified information, fostering a critical and evidence-based perspective on food, nutrition, and sustainability.

Promoting sustainable food systems

To contribute to the debate and the generation of knowledge on more sustainable food systems, taking into account their environmental, social, and economic impacts.

Connecting knowledge and education

To promote knowledge transfer and bring research and science closer to students, professionals, and other stakeholders in the food sector.

Build partnerships

To foster collaboration among universities, businesses, institutions, and other stakeholders to develop initiatives that have a positive impact on the region.

Promote research

To promote and support research projects related to healthy and sustainable eating, generating scientific knowledge that helps address current and future challenges.

CASS Inauguration
